We are committed to respecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection laws, including theInformation Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information from third parties:

• Account & Profile Information: When you register an account, we collect your name, email address, academic institution, field of study, graduation year, target exam codes, and career interests.
• Resume & Career Details: Information you input into our AI Resume Builder, such as work experience, skills, educational history, projects, and certifications.
• User-Uploaded Files: Study notes, textbook excerpts, and past question papers that you upload to your private document storage.
• Payment & Billing Data: Order details, subscription tier, billing address, and transaction identifiers. Actual payment processing is handled by our PCI-DSS compliant partner, Cashfree Payments India Private Limited. Careers24 does not capture or store payment card numbers, UPI PINs, or bank account credentials.
• Log & Device Information: Standard access logs including IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and access timestamps.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected data solely for legitimate educational, operational, and service delivery purposes:

• To provision, authenticate, and maintain your account.
• To generate tailored mock exams, AI answers, flashcards, and ATS-optimized resume suggestions using Google Gemini.
• To process purchases, deliver study materials, and manage storage quotas.
• To provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
• To protect against fraud, unauthorized access, and malicious attacks.
• To comply with statutory legal, accounting, and tax obligations under Indian law.

3. AI Processing & Model Usage

When you use our AI features (such as resume tailoring, document chat, or mock exam generation), your prompt text and relevant document excerpts are sent to Google Gemini via secure API endpoints. We do not use your private resume content or uploaded study documents to train publicly accessible machine learning models.

4. How We Share Information

We never sell personal information. We share your data only with trusted infrastructure providers bound by confidentiality and security obligations:

• Supabase: For identity authentication, user session management, and encrypted PostgreSQL database hosting.
• Cloudflare R2: For encrypted, isolated cloud object storage of user-uploaded files and past papers.
• Cashfree Payments: To process secure UPI, credit/debit card, and net-banking transactions.
• Google Gemini: To process on-demand AI study assistance and resume evaluations.
• Sentry: For crash reporting, runtime diagnostic logs, and platform stability monitoring.
• Law Enforcement: Only when strictly mandated by court order or applicable Indian law.

5. Data Security & Storage

We employ industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your data. All traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3 / HTTPS). Data stored in Supabase and Cloudflare R2 is encrypted at rest.

6. Data Retention & Your Rights

We retain your personal information for as long as your account remains active. You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access & Export: You can review and export your saved resumes, test attempts, and study notes directly from the platform.
• Correction: You may edit your profile and account settings at any time.
• Deletion: You may request permanent deletion of your account and associated files by contacting privacy@careers24.in. Account deletion removes your documents, resumes, and study records within 30 days.

7. Cookies & Local Storage

We use essential cookies and browser local storage strictly to keep you authenticated, remember your interface preferences (such as dark/light mode), and safeguard against cross-site request forgery. We do not use intrusive third-party tracking cookies or advertising networks.

8. Updates to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product enhancements, legal updates, or operational changes. Material changes will be communicated via notice on our website or by email prior to becoming effective.
